We cannot rest, however, because many more children are in great need. We will visit the sponsored children in September.

Children are eager for education.  Familes struggle and sacrifice to pay the school fees.  Often a child's education is interrupted when fees are not paid.  They are "chased" from school until they can get the money.  They get behind, have to repeat grades, or just drop out.  When you sponsor a child, they can go to school every day without the worry of being "chased".  They learn much more and advance steadily.  For just a few dollars, you can keep a deserving child in school.  We know many of the families and we know and trust those who are screening the children for sponsorship and distributing the money.  All of the sponsored amount goes directly to pay the school fees. Administrative fees are paid from other funds.

Ruth and I enjoyed the children singing and doing drama.  We had gathered to exhort them to study hard and to give them gifts from the Sponsors and money for school fees.  We have a video of this event. Over seventy children are now being sponsored for school fees and related expenses.  This enables them to further their education and hopefully will lead to increased ability to support themselves and others.
